When Inspiration knocks on your door...

I bet you all know that moment when you suddenly have a great idea and everything is just perfect in your head - and you can't wait to start to visualize it somehow.

I tend to have these moments quite often but only twice has it hit me THAT hard. I haven't slept the entire last night and waited for the morning to arrive, because I wanted to get out of my flat and run into every store I can find to collect more inspiration and to buy things I'll need for it. I also spent the whole night on DaWanda and Etsy to find stuff I can use as well and I found something.

It was ordered immediately.

This is one of those ideas that I really want to see finished and done. I'll probably do whatever it takes to make it happen, because I always had a small wish in my head to do something like this and now I just try to make it reality. Cross your fingers! You'll be the first ones to see the outcome!

And here's a little sneak peek for you, tadaa!

This is kind of a DIY-Project, since I'll do a lot of it on my own. And right now, I even expanded my idea and I really hope it's working out.

Summer evening portraits // Leah

Today I'm finally publishing one of my favourite shoots. I don't really know what took me so long to be honest ... but here it is!

Earlier this year the lovely girl on the pictures and I had the crazy idea to move to Cologne together. That was in March. And in June we moved in together and are now sharing a flat. Very spontaneous decision and vision but we made it work and we still live here. Can't believe we've been here for almost 6 months now. Cologne is our home now and I think I speak for both of us when I say that we won't leave this city any time soon.

One day in July we decided to go outside and take some pictures. I was stunned by the amazing sunset that was waiting for us on that evening.

Elopement! // Peter + Gundi

Wow it's been a while...

So I was shopping today and bought myself a few new clothes and new shoes (YAY for that!) when I came across some dresses that I thought were pretty. I didn't buy a dress, but they reminded me of the posts that still have to be published on here!

Now, Peter wrote me a message in late July that he and his fiancée are getting eloped in August and asked me to capture their sweet little elopement. I immediately said yes and met up with them - trust me they're the cutest! They were so nice and understanding - and they asked me to keep everything a secret. And so I did.

We drove to Emmerich, a really small town at the border to the Netherlands and I never thought it's so beautiful up there. I was really surprised and so were Peter and Gundi.

We absolutely had a great time together and I wish them all the best for their future - especially with their yet unborn twins!

Oh and look at their absolutely cute dog! She was basically their maid of honour!

First time Indoor // Sabina

I posted one of these pictures on my Instagram a while ago and this is what I wrote beneath it:

"If you'd told me a year ago, I'd shoot indoors one day ... I would've told you you're crazy."

And that's right - I really would've done that. But then I've found large windows and a beautiful living room in her flat. We actually planned on shooting at the Aachener Weiher in Cologne, but it started raining when we had our coffee talk right before the shoot so we decided to just go to her place and then I was in her living room ... and it was filled with light. And I loved it. And we just shot there.

I think I never took so many edgewise portraits before.

Portraits in Cologne // Ivana

About a month ago I met up with this woman and what can I tell you - she's beautiful inside and out. Her name is Ivana and I had a lot of fun with her and it was a pleasure to get to know her!

She's also living in Cologne and earlier this summer I learned that the light on the right side of the river is just stunning at sunset. So we met at Pollerwiesen for the shoot and also went up on the Severinsbrücke for a few shots!

Mhhh, give me back this warm, beautiful summer sunset light!
